Once in eight years, Volkswagen updates its flagship models, the Polo and Vento as part of timely updation and for making the cars stay competitive in the market. The company has not given a slight facelift to both of them, upon which the design is mainly inspired by the sporty GTI variant.
It’s also a part of promoting the GTI series of Polo as informed by a sales manager. To begin with, the major changes made, the Polo has now got major changes in
- The front fascia, including the honeycomb grille, air dams, fog lamps
- The rear diffuser and a new bumper
- Side skirtings
- Door scuff plates
- R16 Portago grey wheels
Apart from these mentioned changes, there is no much change to the engine and performance. The new version Polo and Polo GT series have got the same engine as before in this 5th generation facelift.
Polo has been in the Indian market for years and still, the company has not yet changed its design, and they never change it for a couple of years. Its the unique futuristic design of Volkswagen that crafted the Polo in its ever-loving sporty and muscular look. The car has got millions and billions of fans worldwide for its looks, sportiness, and build quality.
Unlike other car manufacturers, Volkswagen worries very little or never worries about the car and its design. The dashboard seems to be a bit dated but is very functional and tough build. The strength of the car can be felt by closing the doors, which produces a thick sound which is quite nice to hear.
The maintenance of the car is pretty high compared to other cars, as each service would cost around a minimum of 8k bugs. But the other fact is that, unlike other cars, Volkswagen cars need to be serviced once in 15k km only and not every 10k km. Considering this, the cost can be compromised. But at the end of the day, what matters is what you get out of this car and no owner has ever complained or regretted choosing Polo GT.
The GT TDI has got 95 ps of power at 230Nm torque and average fuel efficiency of 18.7 km/l. The TSI features the 7 speed DSG transmission.
GT costs around Rs 9.76 lakh for Petrol and Rs 9.88 Lakhs for diesel variants. There are six colors to choose from and Volkswagen also offers complimentary service packages and accessories as add ons.
