Mahindra is launching its 2020 Thar version with a new feature, front-facing rear-seat. 2020 Mahindra Thar has changed its interior with a completely new all-black dashboard. It is designed with a digital-analogue instrument panel with a big MID integrated between the dials, it is kitted with a multi-function steering wheel, round AC vents, new AC control dials with silver outline and a repositioned passenger grab-handle which will be all-new. The seats are more comfortable and will have contrast stitching. Another major update provided is the rear seat which will be front-facing.
The ladder-frame chassis of the new-generation Mahindra Thar will be the same as 2020 Mahindra Scorpio. 2020 Mahindra Thar will boast an evolutionary exterior design and dimension-wise it will be longer and wider than the current model. All the classic elements like the signature seven-slot vertical grille, front fender-mounted turn indicators, a wide and flat bonnet and round halogen headlamps will be featured at the front. The rearview will be kitted with a spare wheel bolted on to its side-hinged tailgate, and small, brick-shaped combination lamps are placed vertically, the rear windows could be opened to facilitate ventilation.
The all-new Mahindra Thar will be compliant with the upcoming crash test norms. Thus, needless to say, the new off-roader will be equipped with standard safety features like dual front airbags, ABS, rear parking sensors, speed alert system, front passenger seat belt warning, etc. The all-new Thar will employ on a BS-VI 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 140 PS and 300 Nm. The engine will come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, presenting a manually-operated 4WD system as an option.
