KIA Motors has announced its first launch, the Seltos on August 22nd and the bookings have started on April 16th. Within three weeks, the bookings have crossed 23,000 units and the company expects to cross 30,000 units before launch. Seltos has gained the attention of automobile enthusiasts with its beating muscular looks and features.
KIA is expected to launch Seltos in three petrol and five diesel variants in GT and Tech Line models. GTK, GTX, GTX+ in petrol variants and HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+ in diesel variants. The petrol engine will have 15.L and 1.4L (with turbocharged) with 115bhp and 140bhp respectively. Transmissions include 7-speed dual-clutch, 6 speed CVT, 6-speed torque converter automatic and six-speed manual that depends upon the variants.
Seltos will be sold across 160 cities in the country through 265 touchpoints. The main rivals of Seltos will be Hyundai Creta, Renault Capture, Nissan Kicks, Tata Harrier etc. KIA has not yet revealed the price tag or expected pricing of the vehicle so far. Few months before, MG Hector had announced the price of its very first model, the Hector which was very revolutionary.
Let’s hope the pricing of KIA Seltos will add fuel to the current competition in the compact SUV segment.
